So, i'm after some shorter coilover springs for the corsa, i've rang Spax a couple of times, got varied answers, so fucked them off.

So, i'm after 7" free length springs, 61mm id, 300lb rating.

Rang coilsprings, they want 105quid.

dfaulknersprings want 100quid

Then i came accross springcoil, they say £56 for the pair.

Now, is there anything they can do that will make them unsafe?

They sent me an email with the quote details in...
quote:

7” Free length
300lbs/in rate
61mm Id
Closed and ground ends

Calc solid = 3in Calc travel 4in

Qty 2 off @ £28.00each - std black paint finished

Does that seem right?

I'm just not sure on the solid / travel part, and the closed & ground ends, anyone shed any light?

cheers.

yep if thats the usual 2.5" id? springs normaly come in 1.9", 2.25" and 2.5" id's
also see demon tweaks as they do a metric range of springs but a little more pricey.

they do 60mm id you sure they are 61mm as that is a piss odd size.
if they have used 61mm their stupid, coiovers are ment to be motorsport based so useless if you cant change spring rates!

What's wrong with speaking as you find?

Ryan89, already tried coilsprings, 105quid for the pair, which is more than i want to pay.

If i could speak to someone who knows what they are talking about at spax, they charge 50quid for the pair.

im happy to try the springcoil ones for a few quid more, but i want to know more about the solid / travel part, and the closed & ground ends, anyone shed any light?

Because although you and others got what you paid for i'm sure you all read what happened at the end, when he just outright lied and took thousands.

Saying that he might be worth a try because you got yours ok is unbelievable.

People having hard evidence infront of them and still being willing to do it is what causes the scamming.

Dave, as they are 61mm id on the spax, the faulkner ones have to be done custom, so are 100quid the pair.

Stupid spax & their stupid sizes.
