I was at a set of lights and an old Pulsar rolled up next to me and clearly wanted a play so we waited for the lights to go green..

..They turned green, I stamped on the go faster pedal and NOTHING! The car just sat there idling away contently.

Bloody throttle cable had come off the pedal! What are the chances of that

Corsa_Sport21, that's not the point. Just the other week I came up behind an Evo 8 on the mway so dropped it to see how it would go. Stayed with it for about 3 secs then the guy remembered where the fast pedal was still got a wee surprised look from him anyway.

Point is, you don't need to know you're going to beat it before you have a play. IMO anyway - it's like the gays at 1/4 mile days that'll drive up to the queue on their own to race a random but if a scoob, evo or something fast is siting waiting on someone to race they hang back till a 1.2 clio pulls up. I've seen that anyway, makes me annoyed as you can maybe tell

On the move is a different story. From the lights isnt.
Have u ever seen a Pulsar launch??No FWD corsa would stand a chance on take-off.
A Gti-R running around 1.1bar boost will do 0-60 in the 4s.
A 1.8 Corsa wont.

No you dont.. Couple of hard launches and the gearbox will be distributed evenly across the road.

An Impreza is much more forgiving
