Well was at Snetterton this weekend with the 206. Spent all week machining parts, building the race engine and mapping it for it to drop a rod on thursday at 6500rpm!!!! Thats the first time the engine has seen that rpm so something is wrong there. Will strip the engine and measure the other rods to see if they have stretched.

Had to put our old standard engine on the dyno with the throttle bodies and did a quick mapping session friday morning to get the fuelling right. Got 170Nm at 5000rpm...about 120bhp big change from 210bhp!

Qualifiying went ok...suspension set up was a bit iffy and I had a big sideways moment on second lap and ended up on the grass...my first official off!. Spent most of the laps pushing it in individual corners finding the limits then did one flying lap. I had just enough power to get past a 1.6 205 gti on the straight When I came in from qualifying my front right tyre temp was above 100 degrees C

Qualified 19th out of 26...1min 31.881 pretty poor. Had an abismal start (overtaken by a Fiat Uno :lol but we made changes to the setup and the car was amazing!

Lap Times

1.51.350
1.32.696
1.30.028
1.28.621
1.28.843
1.28.309
1.30.286
1.28.466
1.28.716
1.28.500
1.28.641
1.28.564
1.28.209
2.55.890 (Pit for Driver Change)

I've never driven a car so hard in my life! Got up to around 13th I think. Our driver change went well around 20secs but the stewards wanted to check over our car as there was smoke coming from the rear wheel so that delayed us around 50 secs Eventually finished the race in 14th!

The Impreza was also out in the Nippon Challenge but was hampered with problems. The clutch didn't want to work, problem with back brakes which meant the car would just spin under hard braking and there was a misfire at 5000rpm. Had to qualify out of session and then failed to complete first race. Completed the second race with just front brakes, no clutch, no 4th gear and a horrible misfire!

Was pretty impressed with my lap times as with the 210bhp engine i was lapping 1.26's!

Will update with some pics when I've got them on my comp!
