One of my rear wheels needs balanced, so at 'outside lane motorway speeds' its shakes the car.

I had to drive up to Glasgow last night to pick up a mate, and on the way down, i noticed the juddering got slightly worse, so I pulled over onto the hard shoulder, and was accompanied by a load of smoke, and greeted with this....

The tyre was so hot that i couldnt touch it!

It was very hard to tell i had a flat due to the profile of the tyre!!

Lucky escape!!

Bet it didn't help that you were ignoring the juddering which usually indicates a flat tyre

As said, it judders anyway due to needing balanced. It only got slightly worse when flat

I dont think it was rubbing at all. Must have just got a puncture. Id guess and say i had been driving on it for a good few miles as it was REALLY hot.

I checked and ajdusted the pressures all round no less than 5 hours before hand.

Check them regularly with the recent weather rollercoaster.
