yea but was that with standard bottom end. not sure if you can get arp's for them. apparently the pistons and rods in them are already forged and they have piston spray jets in as standard. just hope jamsport has a fire extinguisher incase it all goes horribly wrong

People talking bollocks.

Normally when these engines go wrong there is a story to be told, i.e. people that shread up a set of Conti's in 1000 miles, don't have it serviced and basically act like twats.

I've had 3 VXR's, not 1 single issue.

generaly speaking modern cars are made to tighter and tighter tolernaces to improve emission, fuel consuption and reduce production costs. so my money would be on 300bhp being very risky especialy if the gm turbo engines of the last 10years are to go on.
i take it you have a corsa vxr lump to hand for a project?
maybe you could find the limits? someones got to test the limits.
or you could play safe and stick some forged pistons in as there usualy the part that has been weened down the most.

one thing i dont get though is the link to that vxr site it says its getting low comp pistons yet the orginals are slightly dished and the low comp one are flat? do the standard one sit pround of the block at tdc?
also if your going forged rods and pistons you have lifted the limit on tunning so why stop at 300bhp when 400 or even 500 is on the cards!

stop giving me ideas. Need to get it running first then il get a 1.8 bottom end and go forged with it. Think il stay safe at 250bhp for now and be boring
