*idiot warning*

Hi. Ok, was giving the car a quick wash tonight along with Lisas Nissan Fairlady Z and noticed that the paint on her car felt like nice and smooth, like glass and on my car its kinda rough. Its hard to explain sorry, but what im getting at is will it just need a good polish and whats best to use? Does it make a difference that the bodywork is not metal?

Ta

Clay bar!

Then polish and wax.

The rough feeling is bonded contaminants such as tar, road grime and sap etc.

Nope, I'd suggest going easy though.

Invest in Bilt Hamber soft clay (important it's the soft one) as this will decrease the risk of heavy marring to the paint etc which would then require machine polishing out - something that's a lot more tricky to do on non metal panels.

The noise you hear is the crap being pulled off the surface! But yes it does scratch / mar the surface which is inevitable tbh - people seem to think you don't need to polish after clay which is totally wrong!

You wash, clay, polish, wax

Will look loads better but make sure you use a decent wax like collenite if you want a nice curable finish. WIll mean less time washing the car more time driving.

Shame it wont change it from being green

It will prep the paint in order to make it shiny.

Al the glay bars doing really is getting rid of the small contaminants that washing cant remove, so tar, insects, shit, cum......etc Once youve clayed it wont look great but wash again then polish & it will be tip top.

The detailer contains wax so you will immediately see a difference anyway.
