Petrol or diesel FR?

Either way will be a big step up in power from your 1.2/1.4

I had a bit of fun with the 1.9 Tdi FR in brighton the other day. Toss pot driving it though, pulling away was equal to my x16xe. Couldnt put it past me so pulled back in. Just out of interest what are the bhp figures?

Ummm i've pissed over a 1.6 Zetec S in a STRAIGHT LINE before, 130bhp, 200lb/ft standard, mine made 148bhp and 240lb/ft on the rollers.

No plans really...

Might consider a remap, but i'm a bit of a novice tbh.

How much could it gain before I'd have to start swapping out clutches etc?

Stage 1 remap would take it to 180-190BHP and about 285-300lb/ft
I've read that the standard clutches can take up to 300BHP but a lot depends on the driving style

If it's the pd130 one it'll be 300 lb/ft and not 300bhp.

Pick a map that's not too agressive or the clutch will more than likely be slipping under full throttle in higher gears.

You'll be looking at 170 for normal remap with nothing else done.

If it's not a pd130 engine I'm probably totally incorrect.

A Stage 1 would generally take you up to the 170 - 180 area. The clutch will handle it, but the life will be reduced, especially if it is a higher milage car. You'll notice a massive difference between the ibiza and your Fabia. Both in engine performance and handling.

170 would give me a 0-60 of around 7.5?

Here

I've had 2 cars done, one him and one from another guy on ebay.

My fabia with that guy there made 168 bhp and I can't remember the torque but it was good.

Rolling road guys apparently said it was an excellent map.

Good choice on the ibiza Fr

My old PD130 was remapped to 177bhp and 308lbft of torque

I went and left a deposit on my new pd130 yesterday and will be getting it remapped within a week of owning it.

Best money i have ever spent........on any car!

As stated earlier, bit of a novice, so I have a few questions...

How does effect insurance and is there a great drop in MPG?

When i informed insurance it went up by £60 for the rest of the year.

As for MPG i feel mine got better. was still getting 65+ normal driving but as soon as you boot it the mpg will come down.

Lowest i have seen is 25mpg

Just checked with my insurer (which is the cheapest I've found by about £100), they won't be able to insure any car with performance modification.

I guess that's that sorted then...

My mpg has never went up in a remapped car, the computer has said it has but it's not really.
