So normal points (unless 12-9 points scheme is agreed).

Then if 2 drivers have the same points at the end of the year, the one with the most wins, wins???

So whats different?

Those teams will be allowed: a more aerodynamically efficient (but standard) underbody; movable wings; an engine which is not subject to a rev limit or a development freeze

The noise is going to be amazing, and we'll really get to see what they can produce, provided they stay within the budget

if it ain't broke don't fix it and it wasn't broke

its stupid that if you spend over the budget you get punished and have a slower car

They way i read that, the driver with the most wins will be crowned champion but normal points will still be scored to decide if two people tie on number of race wins (e.g massa 7 and hamilton 7), but also to decide 2nd place and below...

Strange imo probably something bernie ecclestone dreamt up to try and assist ferrari in some way

From what I gather:

Driver A could win 9 races in a season, and retire from the rest.

Driver B could win 8 races in the same season, and get podiums in all others - and still not win the championship.

I don't get it.

Give the following:

Win = 12
2nd = 9
3rd = 6
4th = 5
5th = 4
6th = 3
7th = 2
8th = 1

And a bonus point per race for fastest race lap

That's right remember that only the F1 champion will be decided by the most race wins. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc places in the title will be decided by points. It's even more confusing when you factor in the difference between 'in budget' and 'not in budget' points!

I might be wrong but surely the lower budget will restrict development as the teams that choose that option wont have the money to develop it.

So teams sticking to the budget are allowed to develop the engine but wont have the money to be able to and teams that dont stick to the budget have the money but aren't allowed to. Catch 22 situation?!

But maybe there is enough money within that budget to develop the engine further than normal, not sure how much it all costs just throwing my initial stab in the dark thoughts out there
