I like drifting on McD trays but I find they wear through quickly and they're not always easy to get hold of.

Has anyone ever modified a tray with metal runners so they take a lot longer to wear through? I ask this because I intend on practising drifting more often and I'll go through trays very quickly.

I've only practised drifting a little bit, but already I can keep the car sideways for ages and power slide around cars in the car park. I nearly managed a figure of 8 when I last attempted it but then they wore through.

So how did you drifters learn to drift? Surely you didn't use new trays on every practise session! Share your tray modifying tips!

I've found that fly fishing is normally better for getting a bite. But it seems you've already hooked a couple already. Fair play.

Problem with metal is that it heats up. So if you reinforce the friction surface you must still prevent damage to the tyre.

And the bad news is that this won't teach you to drift. The tendencies are completely different when the rear wheels are driving.

What did they use dude? I've considered stuff like baking trays but like Ian says, they heat up and will melt the tyres.

Yeah, i've done the odd hand breaker, but i've never done the McDonalds tray thing, and used it to learn how to drift.

I used a bmw 316 and the forestry commission roads for that (but that was more rallying than drifting).

Drifting round on maccy d's trays won't teach you to drift anyway you need a rwd car for a start, replacement tyres and a big car park
