A few years ago when I passed my test and was a "boy racer" , we used to have what was called the "7 minute club".

It consisted of a group of idiots (me being one of them) who tried to get from Stonehaven to Aberdeen (probably about 13 miles from slip road to slip road) in under 7 minutes. Which meant we had to have an average speed of about 115mph for just under 7 minutes (anyone who knows that bit of road will know that its not gonna be easy in certain cars because of certain hills/corners).

Another thread I read tonight reminded me of it, and I was just wandering if any of you guys did something similar? Afterall, we were all young a stupid once...

As i said, this was when i passes my test (5 years ago). Nowadays i'm nothing like i was back then. I realise i'm not invincible, or uncatchable by the cops.

Me and a couple of others used to see how quick we could get along a local road (The stawnie for fifers), not sure on the time but basically who could get the max speed My mate's 172 had 146 on the clocks, I won't comment on my speed but didn't beat that!

Well there is a seaside country road people used to get proof of their acheivement where they get a bank statement with the time on it and drive as fast as possible to a town 12 miles away and get another bank statement so they can get the exact time.
Many people have crashed doing this and a guy I knew died possibly trying this on that road he probably wouldn't of crashed if another crash wasn't in his way.
I didn't try this as it is one of the up most dangerous roads driving normally.

Yeah used to try and get to a ton in between these two roundabouts coming outta Canvey Island in my 206 GTi. Managed it once, but was very close to death so never attempted it again. Would be good to try again with the 182 for comparison though. It's a private road of course

There is a long sweeping bend that comes of a dual carriageway near me that everyone tries to get the highest speed around.

Theres a corner like that near us. Its called the Muchals dip.
I thought i did pretty well going round it at 115 in my 1.6 Escort, but then heard about my 2 mates who raced round it side by side at over 140 in a Type R and an Evo madness.

115 this is more like 50/60mph but most people struggle to get 30mph round it, because it so tight.
