its true
I drive to liverpool and back most weekends as the gf is up at uni there.
normally i will drive there and back doing a steady 60-70 and it takes an hour.
on fridays its normally around 50-60 due to traffic but still takes ever so slightly over an hour.
and yesterday i followed a landrover all the way back doing 80-90 all the way back and it still took me an hour .
god knows why
does anyone else get this feeling??
(appologies for any spelling mistakes this keyboard is p*ssing me off)

Some mornings I give the car a bit of stick to work, get to middle of town and a car I passed 10mins ago pulls up along side!
I've started just sitting at the speed limits pottering away and find it just as quick! But still like the odd little play

80-90 wont get you there much quicker, the wrong side of 100 leptons makes a noticeable difference though

yeh same here ill normally sit in the inside lane all the way to liverpool on a friday night as its empty and the amount of people who belt past you who you then undertake 5mins later up the motorway is untrue

Its quite true, few months back me and a few lads from work were traveling about 100 miles a day to work and back.
I drove in the mornings, and always took us 45-50 minutes, sitting at 65-70mph.
Lad who would drive home would sit at 90mph, poor transit being dogged within an inch of its life, dodgy overtakes, etc etc, and he could never get home quicker than 45mins

I used to leave for work at quarter to 8, for an 8 o clock start. I live 14 miles from my work. Half of that is in bad traffic. The other half is good B roads. 120mph+ was getting silly.
I now leave at half past and sit at bang on 60 and get there 5 mins early.

Matt, you know it doesn't get you there faster, Trax 07?
Matt went past me at about 80, so I sped up to follow, as did he, I couldn't keep up and eventually give up and dropped back down to 80. I arrived at Trax and as I was walking in, got a phone call from Matt 'How did you get here before me?'
Tbf that was down to a few closed junctions on the M6 and better forward planning from me

well... errr.
it was for the G/F
I love the roads when they are as empty as they were sunday night, I only overtook a handfull of cars and the one lorry on the full length of the M50
the last 3 miles were flat out
125 if your wondering, wouldnt budge past that

yea, I've done the M50 like that before - driven 20 miles without seeing another car, its pretty eerie when this is no lighting for that section too - just your own headlights, its wierd!

My mum takes 25 minutes from my house to Kirkcaldy, I took 16. She drives a 278bhp Impreza normally but does the speed limit (max 60mph), do the maths.

Birmingham to London on the fun side of 100mph definitely gets you there quicker. God bless the M40.
