as per title relly, want to buy some blank plates so they can have a vinyl stuck over them instead of normal number plate text because all the show plate sites i have been on dont allow - or . to be in them.

so where will sell me just a set of plain plates?

Dont you legally have to have all the garage names on etc after 2001, or something along those lines?

Go to a garage that makes up number plates, explain to them what you want them for, they should let you buy some.

Road legal ones, must have the name of the garage/website that made the actual plate not made the car. Thats gotta be in the bottom center of the plate. And its gotta have some BS EN number in the bottom right.

True, but 99% of MOT stations / Coppers couldn't give a toss as long as the font and spacing is correct.

my bad thought he meant that you everytime you bought a replacement plate you had to have the original garage details put onto the new one etc.

Well thats hardly going to stand up if they got taken to court. If the OP got pulled and said the garage said it was ok for me to use these plates and they made them, then they get prosecuted and what prove have they got that they never said that - his word, would never stand up.
If they let him walk out the door without signing anything saying he accepts they are created for off road use i will be surprised. When you order off websites you do the same by accepting thier terms and conditions
