ill put up my defence first: I have never once locked my boot with the key EVER.
basically i came out of work and went to put something in my boot didnt open thought fair enough i musnt have clicked the key twice (once opens drivers door second opens everything) so did that still nothing... pressed the button on the drivers door that unlocks the car.. went back still nothing. so locked the car and unlocked it again and you could hear the lock working so thought it must be the actual S bit not working properly.
went down to seat to say my boot wont open, they said its a common problem for the mechanism to break as its quite flimsy but they couldnt look at it until tuesday so thought ok (could do with it working this weekend but fair enough) come home told my dad and he goes yeh i couldnt open it the other day when i was cleaning it (he did mention it but i just thought he hadnt pressed the key twice).... then he goes on to say... i turned the key in the boot so have you tried that which i hadnt as i never ever use that... anywho... went out turned the key and the boot opened.
so ermmm yeh i can safely say i now feel very very stupid even more so that i had to ring the garage and cancel the booking
summary for lazy people.
Boot didnt open > went garage who thankfully couldnt look at it till next week > come home turned the key and it opened.
on the plus side i have fully working bulbs and lights now

*note to self* mine has the auto locks so once i go over 10mph everything locks and it only unlocks the drivers door when the key comes out.
