Not really into washing my car so need some advice.......I want to keep the alloy bells and callipers nice and clean without having to take my wheels off all the time (which is a pain in the ass with a big car!) I have used that Meguiars stuff which seems to do the trick but use nearly half a bottle every time. The other thing is, I cant help but get it all over my wheels too so I might as well do them at the same time so the stuff needs to be safe for painted wheels.

Ive seen a few 5ltr bottles on Ebay for about £20 or so like this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260368881867 question is - Are they any good or can someone recommend something to me!

Cheers in advance!

Bilberry's great stuff. If you need anything stronger, use Megs Wheel Brightner, but it's pretty acidic and not normally needed.

It's actually cheaper overall direct from Valet Pro though: http://www.valetpro.co.uk/Products/Exterior+Cleaners/item1128?startPos=

I use Bilberry too. I've got it diluted quite weak and it still works brilliantly and a little goes a long way.

Just got the 1 litre bottle for now to try but will buy the 5 litre one next time now I know its good stuff.

What is this "sponge" you talk of? Where can I get some and do they do it in bulk bottles?

1) The alloy bells haven't got a smooth finish so dirt tends to grain itself it - Sponge 0 - Wheel Cleaner 1

2) Even though my hands have been compared to those of a young female they are still too big to get in behind the wheel thus rendering them useless in the alloy bell cleaning department - sponge 0 - Wheel Cleaner 2

Bilberry & EZ Wheel brush = Win, I can do the Astra alloys in 10 minutes now with these two rather than the previous 40 minutes.

i use the same shampoo i use for my paintwork, megs gold class

does get apain in the arse having to get all the brake dust off the calipersand shite off the inner alloys every time though

as matty g said, if you dilute these acidic wheel cleaners then they are usually pretty good and last a lot longer.

it is good but after years of use my alloys started to fade as the laquer was being stripped.

With the Bilberry you can spray it on, leave it 5 mins then use a hose and the dirty literally falls off, my wheels are covered in Jetseal as well so that helps but it still makes life easier.

Might be a silly question, but can you polish wheels? Would it make them easier to clean?

I've got Poor Boys wheel sealant which is very good, but Jetseal 109 is just slightly better.
