Sup, stumbled across this forum yesterday and thought id join seeing as though i have an S reg 1.4 16v GLS as a run around till i fix my actual car. Seems really good so far, not as good as the old GSi i used to have, that thing was ridiculously quick! Anyway, names Jamie and im at the tender age of 17 and have already have a page long list of ex cars after only passing my test 6 months ago, so i though id post a pic in chronological order of what i had.

BMW 316i

BMW 316i (Both of them)

Moved away from BMW and onto the Corsa's

1.2 LS with a 1.4 cavalier engine

Corsa GSi (loved this thing, but my brother borrowed it to take away with him for a week and he wrote it off!)

Vectra 2.5 V6 CDX (heater leather seats and stuff!)

and finally current project which needs an engine rebuild
Vectra 2.5 V6 Sport

Anyway, thats my car related CV! car mad you see

lol I've had a corsa sitting in my driveway for months so i insured that in my own name so i could drive any car, so i can switch cars all the time, and the corsa i mention at the top iv finally got round to getting an MOT on which i done today

EDIT: Ye i was paying just over 2K on the BMW, i was working fulltime in a supermarket over the summer so i JUST managed to afford the £600 deposit, since then i got pass plus and my insurance on the corsa is only £950

So you've got loads of cars because you're driving about uninsured.

You aren't allowed to drive other cars if they're your car.

If the cars happen to be registered to somebody else that person has to have insurance on the car for you to be able to drive it under your policy.

Insurance does not work like that from what i can figure out. I have referals on my own policy, plus i'm over 25. Which means, as long as the other car is insured fully comp by another driver i'm allowed to drive that car 3rd party.

Yeah, the other cars need at least third party insurance for you to be insured on them with your own policy.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

oh ye i know that, you can insure a car and put that its owned by a family member, thats what i did with the V6's, use my own insurance and pay the £10 a month for my folks to insure it so i can run it off that, dont worry im CERTAIN im insured cos iv been stopped by the cops in 2 different cars and its all checked out ok

ah gutted, most of the cops are arseholes up here, bar 1 or 2 who are legends, one of which was when one stopped me in the corsa GSI for going too slow and when he had me in the car some woman called in complaining that the blue lights woke her up! typical stornoway that, we were having a good laugh in the cop car slagging off the mondeo they have!
