i have a gls with the same engine,

they are excelent on the motorway but will drink a fair bit when fiddled with i.e. uprated inlet and induction kit.

but hen again what car wouldnt, will get about 350-400 miles per tank on a run and possably closer to 500 if kept at 60mph on motorway

with the colour, get it mopped and then use something like super resin pollish and a good sealent to keep it red and shiny, rich h will help you out more on what is best to keep the colour.

maintanence wise, cambelt every 40k or you'll have big bil,
head gasket isnt to bad a little pain as a lot more to it than doing a 8v
other than that easy to look after

My V6 corsa would get 400+ miles to a tank motorway driving. you must have been toeing that vectra everywhere.

There are ok cars for what they are. See also saxo VTR and pug 106 XSI.

Maintenance wise, head gaskets are a right cunt of a job to do really as with most small cap 16v engines, cambelt and waterpump are worth checking too. Also check for chronic rust on front chassis legs, sills and rear inner arches.

As its from a dealer you could get some warrenty for the gearbox and engine.
Looks pretty decent and 70k isent mega miles.

Check to see if its a bit smokey tho!
