I have been insuring my M3 for the last 6 Months for just over £100 PM totalling to £600 roughly. i called my insurer to cancel my policy, and they wanted over £100. i wasnt willing to pay this, so i just got a quote to see how much it would be to change the cars over from my M3 to a Nova GSi They said they would refund me £390 and i would still be insured on the nova for the next 6 months.
So if any of you are thinking about cancelling your insurance, and will get charged for it, you would be much better off insuring a lower risk car for the rest of your policy, not only will you get a refund, you will also continue to get you NCB
i wonder if id get a big refund if i had paid for 11 Months worth, theninsured a shitter?
Opinions?

All well and good if you have the car in your possession?!
Adam_B experienced something like this when he didn't want to insure his VX220 any more.

yup. wrote the car off, they wanted me to carry on paying £70 a month or whatever it was to basiclly insure nothing. Bought a shitter and im paying the same policy but its only £20 a month.
Insurance companys are just all theiving bastards, the amount of shit ive gone thought trying to get what im owed for the VX is insane, its still not sorted. Luckily Lisa is totally ace though and helping me with it, i lost my rag a while ago and couldnt be arsed

That really fucks me off as well, 'Admin fees' that cost £25, £50 or £100. It just doesnt cost all that money for someone to edit an insurance document on a computer and post it to you. Theiving fucking cunts the lot of them.

So basically for you to insure a Nova Gsi for a full year it would be £210??

My dad cancelled a policy on his van a while back after my brother blew it up They said there was a £380-something still owing he cancelled the direct debit, told em he wasn't paying, after a month or so they dropped it to £190, 'please pay or we'll take this further' etc. another month or 2 went by then there was another dropped to £90, 'please pay or it'll go to court'.
I think that last one would be maybe 2-3 years ago now, guess what, he never paid, guess what, no courts involved

For anything less than £3000 they wont take you to court.

I was thinking the other day.
The problem for me and insurance is, i have to pay monthly. So ive got to pay a massive deposit! Over £200 for my corsa sport. Then however much a month!
So, was thinking, couldnt i just insure my brothers 1.2 8v, pay a much smaller deposit, ring up, say ive changed my car to the 1.6, and just put the price up per month instead of the deposit?

In theory might work but a car cannot have 2 insurance policies on it
