Before you all start it's just had a makeover, read the second from last line of the press release.

"Corsa and Astra VXRacing Edition

Vauxhall is pleased to announce the launch of the exciting Corsa and Astra VXRacing Editions, to celebrate our fantastic success of the VXRacing team in the British Touring Car Championship.
Where we ended the 2008 season with all 3 titles, drivers, manufacturers and team champions.
What better way to celebrate than 2 Special Edition VXR’s with Corsa and Astra VXRacing themed to the winning teams red and black colours.
Priced at £17,425 on the road, the Corsa VXRacing Edition comes standard with exclusive Full Leather Recaro Shell backed seats and steering wheel with red stitching detail and red air-vent surrounds to complement the red details inside the car.
VXRacing details continue with logo’s on sill plates and B pillar graphics, then inside an individually numbered plaque showing that the cars are limited in numbers.
The Black 18 inch V-spoke alloys, door mirrors, rear diffuser, side door mouldings and rear spoiler, continue the Black and Red theme to the exterior.
Astra VXRacing Edition priced at £21,445 follows the same design as the Corsa VXRacing but with the 19inch multi-spoke Alloys in black along with the rear diffuser, rear spoiler, side door mouldings and door mirrors and the rear chrome Strip on the boot lid also becomes black.
Interior of the Astra gets Piano Black dιcor mouldings unique to the VXRacing Edition models.

Yes the first question you all will have is where is the LSD, AP Brakes, coilovers etc, etc.
But where this model is targeted is to allow you the customer to fit whatever products you want from whatever tuner you want to go to.

Note this is not our really special VXR model that will be later in the year.

You wouldn't. No point if you already own a VXR, maybe if you were in the market for a new VXR you would go for this.

I was thinking Clio

Clio Ph1 172
Clio Ph2 172
Clio V6
Clio Ph2 V6
Clio 172 Cup
Clio 182
Clio 182 Cup
Clio Trophy

All very succesful models and all kept the model ticking over.

they look cool.

People say pointless, but the added kit is cheaper than specing a new VXR with it on. I like

Clio was upgrades of a car getting old that needed updating for various reasons. V6 was hardly a clio anymore.

Megane is a fair comment though. But at least they do proper upgrades, titanium exhausts (HUGE weight saving), rear seat removal, optional roll cages, etc....

Those are just VXR's with plastic bits stuck on.

I did get rather excited aboutthe "red stearing wheel stitching though" that gave me serious boneage........

The VXR's not the megane. MEganes was always playing catchup, but they've gone past. More marketting excercises.

Vauxhall should be more worried about some of their dealers going bust and shutting up shop. I don't think this models justified, jsut bring out the proper official vauxhall hardcore jobbie.

This will also help get rid of a load of stock that people have specced their standard VXR's with.

Much like the Exclusiv Corsa C - I bet they had no intention of releasing it, other than to get rid of leather interiors and dash climate bits which weren popular.

You have missed the point totally Daimo once again.

It's a marketing exercise that will sell cars, people love a gimmick.

The hardcore version of the VXR is out later in the year, keep your knickers on.

No I haven't
Yes it is, hence why sheep will buy this model
Yes i've already said that, but my opinion is just ignore this model and bring out the hardcore version instead. I shall drop this opinion and listen to what someone else tells me to think about it instead.

titanium exhausts is only an option for the R26R though, and is that not were the VXR-R comes in?

as for just stuck on bits whats the diffrence between a clio 197 cup and R27? just stickers and paint colours?
