so a stainless manifold mated to a de-cat would be good? should i keep the silencer or remove it?

It all helps, but won't give mega gains and probably won't be that noticable. I would say replace the silencer with a straight through silencer or even a remus straight through pipe but will be mega loud if you go for the remus and de-cat.

If your replacing the oem part then a well designed tubular manifold will make a world of difference. If you already have a mild steel tubular one theres no point putting an SS one on untill your current one corrodes away

i thought it was to do with heat and exhaust gasses? a wrapped stainless manifold will get hotter and expel exhaust gasses quicker

would nearly be better keeping the centre box, as the engine needs some back pressure, and what engine the fanimolds for??

Standard exhaust manifold on 16v engines is quite restrictive.

£135 isn't eactly cheap, janspeed do (did?) one for £120, 4-2-1 mild steel. Lexmaul done the original version but in stainless for £300+ (pay for the name).

accompany it with an inlet manifold, and it gives good gains. Go de-cat, and full system, and a new chip to run it all, and say hello to 130-140bhp on a 1.6....
