I'd much rather have that engine in a BMW.

If the carlton was left to look like a sleeper, then fair enough, but because it has chrome stickers, gash wheels and an M badge on the back, its all just soooo wrong.

looks like it has a bmw side repeater as well.
That is one strange engine that, it is near literly 2 6 cylinder engines welded together, 2 seperate inlets, 2 looms, 2 ecus

They did indeed, same bore and stroke as the V12, just 4 more cylinders.

Fitted it into an E32 7er with a 6 speed Getrag 'box from the 8er.

They only made one, just to see if it was viable.

There's a feature in BMW Car this month, makes interesting reading.

There's another engine which works in a similar fashion but I can't think what it was.

Might be the Toyota V12 from the Century Limousine.
