Having different brake pads would make no difference to creating a bigger power output And not in the slightest point even concidering it.

id look into a matzel or throttle bodies, four branch manifold etc,
much better throttle responce from a decent manifold..

change your top inlet manifold as they are very restrictive, get a 4-2-1 manifold and it will feel like a different car

I fitted LED washer jets and it actually increased my power output by 3bhp. FACT.

No point doing anything management wise on the standard engine.
Get a Dbilas flowtec inlet manifold and an uprated FPR. Then theres a german ebay shop that sells eprom chips for the C16XE which raises the rev limiter to 7200RPM, adds a little ignition advance, injector advance and lengthens injector duration a bit too. this basicaly makes the car run as vauxhall intended before they realised the corsa GSI was faster than the astra GSI. this should make the car much nicer to drive and boost power to around 130-140bhp.
Then id go with a 4 branch exh manifold.
Anything more would cost too much and your better off getting a V6 transplant.

my old sport 1.6 ... homemade inlet (from flame on here), 4-1, full s/s system, de-cat made 128bhp and it was so much better than standard and quite quick. i never spent alot in total really, never bothered with big name brands* and never had any problems.
*dbilas- biggest waste of money!

Not if you can find a genuine 1 cheap enough
Rather have the real deal then a copy. Thats just me though. Sure some people would agree.

the Dbilas ones have the inlet lengths finely tuned and shaped and the box is designed to create minimum turbulence. They didnt spend thousands on R&D if joe public could knock a better one up in his shed!
