Now, im not starting a debate or anything, but really how quick are Clio 197's?

Im not saying i beat one or anything either, but we were both sat pretty similarly up to 140mph so i presumed he wasnt giving it much??

I know if id spent god-knows-what on a nice shiney thing, id try my damndest to leave a red Cavalier behind......

Anyone?

What have you got?

They're not slow but not rapid.

I've never been in one, but a friend has a corsa vxr and the clio is quicker than that.

Aye, he's only had a small blat in his corsa though, theres only 700 miles on the clock.

He was just playing on a motorway with one, he said they were match for match and the clio edged ahead after a while.

True, but to sit at 140mph is still a bit dodgy

I wouldnt be so sure. I mean they are blisteringly quick, no quicker than a 172, they are too heavy.

2 of my mates got them, one made 210@ the fly on the rollers with no mods, other one made 204 but is overdue a service.

Nothing special, my mates H22'd Civic coupe schools them both

That's strange then - on the forums it's widely known that they don't seem to make anywhere near the claimed 197HP figure they're supposed too .

Quite the opposite in my opinion! But then it's down to the drivers And Tiff had them both on the track and it showed the Clio was a bit better round the bends, but the extra torque of the Corsa made it quicker in a straight line.

They respond well to having the inlet manifold modified, make good power for not a lot of money.
