ok.... im nearly 20... i have no car and not had one for 3 months, its getting really annoying. ive been looking for a 3 door black 55/06 astra 1.8 sri and its a tedious search, so...
do i continue to look for an astra and possibly wait another month or so and get myself a little bit of debt... or go and buy a 1.6 W reg sport with 69k and buy it outright?
i really want a newish car and ive drove the astra and it felt good and another plus would be it has warrenty and in a nut shell its a good car. If i get the corsa B i would probably XE it and would be a hoot! ..... dilema

Honestly.
Save money
get rid of debts
Save for next car.
Sure it'll take a while, but if you just keep digging that debt u'll never start your life as your forever paying off what you've already debit for.
I made that kinda decision around 24, to stop spending money on sh1t and getting in debt.
27 and im now free (bar a mortgage which is 10x worse than the previous debts )
Plus its not really the time to have a debt over your head.

Avoid debt at all costs and get a Corsa, then save up or spend your money on it

Buy a car you can afford outright. I'm selling my CTR soon and buying a 1.6 sport or a fiesta zetec s to pootle around in so I can pay my loan off and start saving for something with 4 walls and a front door.

As long as the loan doesn't have stupid interest I can't see the difference between saving for a car and buying it now.
Except if you save you need to wait, and nobody wants to wait.

well its hard, i get staff rate with halifax so apr/interest is not a problem
buy a 9/10 year old car and mot it every year, deal with rust etc and probably modify it as a standard corsa is just shite.
sensible, get a astra for around 7.5k and enjoy it, i would not modify it but with my budget i could only get a 5 door with x-pack and i would rather have a 3 door, so i would have the car for roughly 3 years untill i pay my loan off and i wouldnt be happy deep down that ive spent all that money to get a car that i didnt really want.
other option is to get something like an astra gsi mk4, 5kish then sell that in 3 years and see where i am

If you can comfortably afford the re-payments and are fine with it then i see no problem with getting a bank loan for a car you really want.

tbh honest I'm in a similar boat to you.
I have decided to spend £1500-£2000 on a hot hatch instead getting a loan out for a 172/182.
I have already got a mortage and a few ks on a intesrest free credit card so don't want to add to anymore debt.

My mates got the 1.8 SRI 07 Plate Astra with the Exterior Pack.
ITs looks nice but to me a 1.8 petrol in that sized car is never going to be that enetrtaining surely?

Get a loan and get something newer. You'll wonder how you lasted with a Corsa for so long
