apparantly they made k plate gsi's with 1.6 8v's in them. anyone confirm or deny that?

not sure about that barnes, but back in the day when i was at vaux, a few gsi's had a recall for fuel filler neck problems, and for some bizarre reason, we had 2 black gsi's on k reg being re-worked. they had the horrible steering wheel no air bag one,and horrible wheel trims.

oh yes. one of a only a few GSI's ever sold in ireland. so i am not sure how many where black.

The UK GSi never came in black, only abroad as people in this thread have posted.

The UK SRi came in black, so if you have ever seen a black 'GSi' then it's either been resprayed, not a GSi, or built for a non UK market.

Not sure of GM's reasons behind this though.

if your wondering about the black GSI that has been relisted on ebay, its a holden berina from either South africa or Australia.
