I would hazard a guess that it's low on oil.

OIL and INSP with the spanner are service reminders.

They both are shit, just make sure it's serviced every 10k or before (8-9 with mine).

Red oil light = low oil pressure = kill engine ASAP

Orange oil light = low oil. Dunno if we acutally have this function though

Oh and don't put the wrong oil in.

Oil that meets the VW505.01 specification ONLY please. Anything else isn't good for the engine.

Halfords sell 505.01 oil in their own brand which I have used without any problems.

Ibiza TDI's are 10k service, no matter what, and no sump plug sensor (his is for an oil temp gauge). Would love to know if the low oil light works, prehaps ignition on (not engine crank) with no oil in next time (bit risky though )

10k service on a the 1.9TDi engines? That's rubbish. Diesels are normally at least 12k aren't they? Dad's 120d is 18k intervals iirc.

Brett shhhh.

It's 10k cos of the PD unit or some bulshite like that.

Personally I think it's a money making scam, my Clio could go 22k without a service.

if there set to fixed interval then yes they are 10k

pay for decent oil and have a longlife service and it can be anything upto 20k once the service indicator os set to "variable" servicing which determines on when it gets serviced depending on how you drive the car.

the majority of VAG cars that come into my work are set for variable

You can't change them to variable.
