Thats what happens with a decat pipe, it makes it raspy. The only thing you can do really is remove the decat, put the cat back on and get an aftermarket middle pipe with the silencer removed or for pretty much no raspness, just have the backbox on and everything else standard.

Is that what someone has told you or is that what's happened to your car???

Check that there are no leaks in your exhaust. My BB is coming apart from the front system and it's getting raspy now. When I fix them back together it's a nice deep noise, no rasp!

£113 delivered from piper for a s/s silenced decat that is a perfect fit, even my local garage was surprised it fit so well.
Sounds very smooth now, very happy with it. Flared s/s silenced decat with 2" bore fully silenced s/s scorpion cat back system

i fitted a the exaxct same exhaust n i know wat you mean but mine wasnt the decat it was due to the fact that it had a straight thrugh pipe i put a silencer inbetween the decat and back box n it had a realy nice deep note to it a lot nice than the retro nova sound

On my old tigra 1.6 i have a remus centre pipe and sportex 4" box, was fookin loud and had to change it as it just annoyed me after a while. My viper now drowns the noise out when booting it but on idle it gives a nice burble. Oh and does anyone else get a lumpy idle after fitting an exhaust? Not majorly lumpy just not as smooth as it was without an exhaust?
