Does someone on here have a black Corsa with the plate S99 YAA? I've seen pics of it on another forum and I'm sure I recognise it.

The car is mine its a got a c20xe its been a bit of a project that has been getting built through last year. I haven't posted any picture of it on the internet yet its just been a work in progress.
a quick spec of the engine is
QED Direct to head throttle bodies
Coscast head ported & polished
13mm bronze valve guides
1mm over sized forged valves with wasted valve stems
QED Race spec double valve springs
Q450 cams running on solid lifters
ARP Head stud kit
ARP Main stud kit
ARP Fly Wheel Bolts
Accralite forged pistons
forged rods with arp bolts
OPC steel crank
im running dta managment. i've got a big oil cooler and dry sump system that hasnt been fitted yet and ive got direct port nitrous oxide with a progressive controller to fit yet. The engine is only running in still yet so hasnt been mapped but will be in the region of 260-270bhp when it has been. Then the nitrous system ive got is good for 200+bhp extra. The plan is usable power its a front wheel drive car i dont want no silly 500bhp undriverbul turbo engine. Im only running a f20 gear box at minute and the first f20 box didnt last 1000 much over 1000 miles of running in before it smashed, im building a quaiffe straight cut gear box and getting a plated diff next to take the power. Another problem i had was i snapped a shaft about a week after i broke the gear box, im using the big block shafts that are ment to take the power but this one didnt, i've got some shafts of a bloke in sheffield what are gauranteed not to snap or he will give me a new one for free. I hopefully will be down santa pod this year to set a few times but i dont think it will be ready to run its best till next year. when its finished im aiming to get in to the 10's.
it doesn't go bad at the minute id be guessing it must be around 220-230bhp with the map that weve done at home to run it in. I've quite a few cars including a subaru impreza wrx sti wr1/audi rs4/m3/mustang so it cant be going bad!
for my brothers red astra it use to be my dads car and he owend it since new so my brother took it off him when he got the blue astra gsi, its in mint condition for its age and my brother oviusly knows the full history of it cos its been my dads since new so hes decided to put a z20let engine in that.

Cheers for posting mate
A quote from Dan somewhere else (about the Corsa):
quote: What can i say, its a hell of a fast car, its proven itself against many a car on the road so far. The sheer ammount of power it has for such a small, light car is amazing, and its a handfull to drive when you give it some. The engine is pretty much complete race spec, so you can guess not many estimate it being quite so fast when they try and burn you
There's an engine bay pic, dunno if you want me to post it or not.
quote: I wish i had some videos to show you my brothers corsa run, i won't get into the costs of what it cost to build, we built it ourself, me my brother and my dad did it from scratch, its got forged crank, forged rods, forged pistons, over sized valves, high lift cams, over sized bores, arp bolts through out, a very highly flowed head, throttle boddies, so you can guess plus all the rest i haven't even mentioned cost a pretty penny. But the end result is truly stunning, i hope he does get to take it down santapod this year.
quote: Ive drove the car and gave it some a couple of times, and honestly its just crazy

you can post the engine bay pic if you want its fine by me
yeah it will be nice if it makes the 10's, i don't want to aim too high but i knows 10's are easily possible. There is enough turbo'd ones out there that really do struggle to put the power down and they make 12's and in to the 11's with 450bhp and around. The purple corsa i don't know if you've seen it thats done a 11.7 and that hasn't got as much power as the all the turbo ones its bet but its about getting the power to the road. The engine is very driveable you oviusly still get a lot if you don't watch out but you can make a lot better launch then you could with a turbo engine. I think turbo engines are great the torque and low end pull you can get off them is good and there fun to drive but i don't think in a front wheel drive car you can make them near as driverable as a normal aspirated engine but the only way to make up for the loss of power of not using a turbo is to use nitrous. With nitrous you can make more power then you could put down at 130-140mph with out any trouble so i decided normal aspirated was the way to go. we have a good few plans to win the battle for getting traction so we will have to see but i'm confident it can make 10's and i'll use it as my daily car too which is fun!

yeah its alrite, the engine is bomb proof but i've had a lot of issues with gear box/drive shaft and after that the ecu failed! my brother and dad are both shit hot with electronics though and between them they managed to fix it after swapping quite a few of the chips on the circuit board. After that something went again within a week and we thought it was the ecu again but it turned out to be the crank shaft sensor but we also found another problem out when we found out the crank shaft sensor had gone. The timing disc what mounts on the crank is coming off. I've used OPC's steel crank and its only got 3 holes for the timing disc and normally they mount with 6 screws. I didn't see there been a problem because there is no real weight to the disc so we assumed it would be fine. Tonight after dropping the sump to hav

to have a look we have found that 2 out of the 3 screws holding it to the crank have snapped so its currently held on by 1 screw, the 2 screws were the heads have snapped off are still in the crank so its going to be a pain getting them out! going to have a go at it saturday and hopefully have it back on the road sunday, going to have to come up with a better plan for holding it to the crank though.
