Supercharge a c20xe/let

Just been reading up on them a bit cuz I like to learn about things etc and was wondering why they arnt all that common.

I know there belt driven off the crank and exhaust manifold would be different so its not like you can just swap a turbo in a let to a supercharger but im sure it wouldnt be too difficult to do this conversion especially on an n/a engine liek the c20xe?

Benfits -

.No lag

.No cooling period is required because they are not lubricated by engine oil you can just turn them off straight away after a good blast.

.The whine

.Can sometimes add up to 50% more power

.Quite simple to do...just bolt to the top of the engine (conventional Roots-style) or mounted off to the side (vortec) (Duno how simple though :lol

.Cost less to service and maintain

Not sure on initial cost etc so mabi thats why it doesnt get done?

It's not worth the effort for the gains when there's an alternative which already works.

This two points seem odd to me too, you'd still want to let the charger cool down, and I don't see how it would be any cheaper to maintain than an LET would, it's still a stressed engine.

That third video sounds like a squeaky toy when he boots it. I've heard some superchargers that sounded alright but they all sounded stupid

Think I'll stick to my throttle bodies plan

Supercharged cars are the business, not many around and different to the usual dump valve sound too... Power is very underated by people... The smooth delivery leaves turbo lag for dead.. My brother has a AE92 GTI corolla which Fensport/TTE did a full supercharged conversion on (4age engine taken out 4agZe engine put in amoung other stuff ) Ended up with a 1.6 engine with 204.8BHP (Flywheel) at 10 psi boost.. Car would eat his mates 300BHP Imprezza thru the gears.. Sounds awsome too, not as whiney as the ones in the clips above, reckon its because the one on the 4agze engine only "blows" or spins up above certain revs so isn't always fully in use... For me, It's supercharged, Throttle Bodies and then Turbos.. Each to there own, isn't that what they say

Heres a clip of a RWD Corolla with lots of carbon fibre from Northern Ireland Same engine but geared different
