The girlfriend needs another car to get her to and from work. Her current car is being returned in a month or 2, so need to start shopping about for a suitable replacement.
In my job im forever bogged down with technical details, biased manufacturer and industry opinion, my own opinion and even cars that should never have been made...
The C30 is an exception. I like it...Very high specication as standard including
17" Serapis alloy wheels
three point seatbelts
ABS + EBD + EBA
Aluminium sports pedals
Anti theft alarm
Blue instrument dials
Cruise control
DSTC-Dynamic Stability and Traction Control
Day running lights
Deco aluminium trim
Driver's seat height and lumbar adj
Dual stage Driver/Passenger Airbags
Dynamic chassis
ECC electronic climate control with AQS
Electric front windows
Electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors
Exterior temperature gauge
Front centre armrest
Front cupholders
Front fog lights
Front reading lights
Front storage box
Front/rear seatbelt pre-tensioners
Head restraints for all seats
Headlamp levelling
Height/reach adjustable steering column
Home safe and approach lighting
Illuminated driver/passenger vanity mirrors
Immobiliser
Inflatable curtain
Intelligent driver information system (IDIS)
Isofix attachments on rear seats
Key integrated remote control central locking
Leather sports steering wheel and gear knob with aluminium inserts
Matt Silver grille
PAS
Passenger seat height/lumbar adjustment
R Design body kit
Rear centre armrest
Rear Spoiler
Rear wiper
SIPS airbags
Side marker illumination
Silver door mirrors
Split folding rear seats
Sports seats
Steering wheel audio controls
Tinted windows
WHIPS - Whiplash Protection System

As its not my car, and as the girlfriend isnt keen on the whole 'Volvo' name, I need to look at credible alternatives.
Can anyone suggest a car I may have forgotten about that fits this criteria;
- Has to be brand spankers
- Sub £13k
- 1.8 and under
- Good standard spec
- Attractive
- Seats 4 people

I could, and to be fair it will be my money that pays for it. She is slowly coming round to the idea of it. She only does 5000 miles per year too.
Should just give her a toyota aygo and tell her to stfu.

Yeh for £10250. Which is about £2250 above book price at the minute
I wouldnt want to keep it any longer tbh. Its as new though - less than 4000 miles on the clock still

They only way to get it cheaper would be to attend the auction it is placed in. I think it will probably end up on autoquake tbh.

Quite possibly the ugliest car from the rear ever. Good cars though, volvos are bulletproof.

I like them, but don't you have to pay for every single option?
I think someone specc'd one up, (Turbo jobbie), and with the twin exhaust, big wheels, kit, and some toys inside, it was coming up £23k+ (might have even been £25k).
Get her a T5

That list above is the standard specification - very very good for a £13k car I think you would agree.
There isnt anything else I would spec on top of that. Possibly bigger wheels, but they dont offer them on a 1.6
I have had a T5 C30 for a month last year. Great fun, but not an option.
