Going to Santa Pod tomorrow in the BMW, what does everyone reckon my times will be, considering the time of year and the fact that I've never done it before?
Figures for a standard car are -
163 bhp / 340NM (250lb/ft)
0-60mph in 8.3 seconds
138mph max
My car has been chipped, so the figures should be -
205bhp / 410NM (300lb/ft)
0-60mph in 7.4 seconds
148mph max
or thereabouts (those figures are for the Alpina D3, which has the same engine and gearbox as mine, and a remap...)
The standard car does the 1/4 mile in 17.3 seconds.
Whoever gets the closest gets an e-pat on the back.

It's the same as it looked when you last saw me, when we drove to TOTD. Short.

ideally, if your car does 0-60 in 7.4, and acceleration is constant all the way, and there is no air resistance, then:
1/4 mile: 14.94s @ 121 MPH.. BUT acceleration is not constant due to air resistance...

and it won't do 0-60 in 7.4 in January, I can tell you that for nothing.
I'm expecting 16.6 at about 85mph.
I don't think there's any chance of getting into the 15s.

No, but lucky for me, that only matters when corners are involved

No but I timed it at 19 seconds once on a wet, bumpy road with two in the car
