i have just bought myself a arden blue corsa sport and i noticed on the service history that on its 40.000 mile service it has had a new head gasket. this might be a simple answer but does that mean the head gasket had gone or had they just replaced ,so that it didnt blow as a precaution?

So why worry the head gasket is ok , I would be more concerned when the cam belt was last changed.

Think the belt is every 30k, so you have 8k left ,better to get it changed before then to be on the safe side.
