Looking at a clio today. The airbag light is on. Its been taken to renault, and they've said the plugs need soldering, on the units under the seat. Costing £76 plus labour. Which is stupid money for abit of soldering. Now i was just wondering if any one knew if i would have to disarm the airbags before unplugging them.

Cheers in Advance.

these are a common fault on peugeot 306's and 206's have done many of these mods, baisically its a stupidly placed plug that is under the seat and gets knocked around when the seat is moved foward and backwards,
easy enuf to do on ya own if you can solder!
all you would have to do is disconnect the battery and leave the car for about half an hour so all the ecus can shut down, then just chop the plugs of doing ONE WIRE AT A TIME! and solder them, the easyist thing we use is them little tubes of heatshrink wiv the solder all readdy in them and just use a heat gun, cant remeber what there called tho lol,
hope this helps

Just unplug the plugs you are working on and then do it, don't need to worry about disarming them.

I had a pug 106 that did this.

The plug was loose under the seat. I clipped it back together and the light went off.

Sorted.
