Going to see one tomorrow, looks nice, it has a full service history and only 70k on an X plate, anybody have an idea on what to look out for? ive been told about the usual rust places on these cars but thats about it, thanks in advance.

Check the service history for the timing chain oil jet upgrade.

Im sure the timing chain is a common fault on these but dont hold me on that

cool, anything else? my brother did have a V6 with 180k and it still went like a dream, will this engine be the same if looked after do you reckon?

robin is correct as well as you scotty there should be a mark somewhere if its been done if not in the history stay away

if its not been done its a free recall well it should be you would need to check with your local vaux dealer

gsi isnt much good on fuel really. better with a 2litre ecotec sri. theyre quite cheap.

My cousin went from a Cavalier Sri XE to a Vectra 2.0 sri and he got rid as it sooked the juice and was slow for what it was.

Now has a P2 Astra Gsi and he says its much better than the Vectra was.

Pete dont get a vectra ur not even 20! Keep on the look out for a xe corsa or asrta sxi/sri
