If you have sold the car (presuming the logbook has been sent) Just ignore the letter, IIRC it actually says it on the back.

Just phone up & tell them you sent them the V5 when you sold the car 6 weeks ago.

I'm sure you should of got a letter to confirm you dont own the car anymore once they change the logbook into the new owners name? Or am I making that up?

You right Mat, the DVLA send you a letter saying that the car is no longer in your name.
Next time you sell a car mate send the V5 back yourself, only costs the price of a stamp and at least you know its done

You're supposed to send it off yourself anyway, you give them the small green slip on the opposite page!

whilst i agree with the fact you should always send the log book off yourself, i have done this and recieved a tax reminder since the log book is sent. The confirmation from the DVLA about change of ownership takes forever to come through and i guess the tax things are automated and printed weeks in advance.
