Isnt the 24th at Oulton park a drift day? Ill def be up for popping along, would love to see both the impreza and skline on track plus a fair few of the local lads are drifting there that day

Checking Insurance now... just shopping around ahead of getting the no plate.

A fair bit cheaper than I was thiking I'm 29 with 11/12yrs driving and 9yr NCD. Decent postcode too i think.

I want to take both.... but there are a few BUTS...

I'm off to Angola round that time....
Skyline is going in for some more power/mapping early next week...
I dont have the Impreza yet...

I've just emailed MSV asking for a discount on two bookings though. I seem to do that all the time with everything car related now. See what Nick says, but nothing ventured nothing gained

Looks real nice. I contemplated buying this one myself. Did you give much more than 5k for it? I want a v4/5 type r or evo8. I cant decide which. Although I reckon the scoob will be quicker. Put a td05 turbo and a simtek ecu and injectors and you should have 400bhp for fairly cheap.

got it home now... had a wee run to go get dinner. Seems fine.... a wee noise around 3-4krpm that wasnt there last week. Not sure what it is but it just sounds like something rattling.









also got some spares... 6 speedlines, 2 fog light covers and a steering wheel boss.

looks like I wont be going to the trackday now..... flying to Africa on the 23rd as it stands just now :/ may change though.

Plan to get it on the rollers today for a wee health check on the fueling with V Power... and maybe weigh it and start removing some stuff.

Fee wants the seats left in though for her to use this weekend

Righto...

Stripped the boot out - Spare wheel, all trim, Rear wiper etc - a good 20kg perhaps


Stripped the AirCon out, bar the rad - maybe 15kg saved.

Done some poking around... Its running a SARD ECU, and hitting 1.5bar in 5th... would have been a fair amount of load as it was uphill. Hitting 1.0bar in 3rd on flat.

Coilovers are TEIN Sport Spec Type HR's - ???

Its running aftermarket headers, BUT standard down pipe and front pipe with BOTH cats still seemingly inplace.

I'm sure the rattly noise is an exhaust gasket or heatshield. Whilst on the rollers there didnt seem to be any DET or untoward knocking. It ran 274bhp and 227lb/ft... boost peaked around 19.5psi and fueling was quite rich, or safe enough.

Did you find any water in the boot? When I was cleaning mine out there was a lot in the wheel well. It was halfway up the spare wheel It seamed to be coming in through the NS light and a hole in the boot for the wires to the 3rd brake light.

Just a little heads up if it wet. If it's dry then all is good
