Had just left my house and was going round a tightish left bend about about 50/55. The car hit black ice, did a 180, dug in to a verge and flipped twice.

I was rushed to hospital and told i was probs a few movements away from becoming disabled but i turned out ok after xrays.
Only injuries are a gash in my head, a bust hand, foot and knackered back for now.

I scary how easy the car slid, there wasnt even any screeching just went. I put full opposite lock on and booted it to try turn the car round as soon as it went but the wheels all just span.

My cupra is now dead, had to cancel my FMIC. Even though its nearly killed me, im going to get another one. Yellow this time

Pics up tonight

Deadly. Spent alot of time in slingsby and around the area and some of the roads around there are brilliant, but deadly due to conditions like these!

well i drive the road every day at the same speed and have been doing in those conditions for ages. But recently they tarmacced the road which i feel contributed to the crash.

And john, it was black ice so no clue to slippy slippy but yeh next time im driving at about 40!

Pics of the car will be up inamo

50/55 into a tight left hander in the conditions that have been around since before Xmas Day?

Own fault IMO

isnt tight as in the sense tight. its a sweeping uphill that has a tighter bit on it. If you dont know the road then you wont understand.
You probs think i was bombing into a harsh corner etc. Pics will be up tonight

still your own fault in the sense that your doing 50-55 into corners which in the weather conditions are more likely to do ice/blackice.

Why are people judging?
We've all driven beyond the conditions, Shit happens the guy has totalled his car and hurt nobody else.
Give the guy a break hey

I think it's more about the fact that he clearly blamed the car for the accident "car nearly killed me last night" when it was his misjudgement.

That was the title. After reading it I didn't see him as solely blaming the car for the accident.
He's gone into a bend and hit black ice. It happens.
I'll admit i've gone into a bend in a 40t artic and been surprised to hit black ice and slid, Luckily I pulled it back. Dan wasn't so lucky.

Even today one of our drivers slid down a hill in Liverpool because of ice. Took him 45 mins to reverse back up it

I just don't think any of the other snipers would like those type of comments after writing their car off, Be it through their own fault or not.
