today got on with doing the fuel pressure reg on the vec and changing the split pipe.

pipe between afm and tb split in several places cant actually see some of them there. to cure this previously black electrical tape was used. seemed to kinda work but will propably been getting un metred air in.

seemed to do this different to the guide i just read on vvoc as they seem to say remove the rear bank manifold and remove fuel lines etc which i didnt.

hole where old 3bar reg was. simple enough to get to the way i did it. probably is a reason why the guide says differently i couldnt work it out though.

old and new reg look the same. one 3bar, one 3.8

all back together with silicone inlet hoses and air box back on for a bit. drives a lot better. really doesnt have as much of, infact anywhere near as much of a flat spot as before. split pipe or reg? i dunno which has helped the most. the split pipe deffo causing problems so who knows.

job done. next up for vectra is de-cat sometime in next few months.

decat and getting rid of the centre box is what i did. I also got a powerflow backbox. LOUD?? Fuck me it was loud so be carefull. Keep the standard backbox i guess as that keeps the noise down but not much lol. Just a bit of advice but its up to you.

it has an msd rear backbox on the gsi so id prefer to keep that really. will keep centre box as i dont want a loud car, just might aswell de cat it see if it makes any more power.

typically, i miss the noise of the k plus n. it might have to go back on.

yeah thats the one i ws on about.

This is what i had when i investigated -

Pipe 1 is behind numberplate. Remove 3 m8 bolts from center grill between headlights and it un clips. You will be able to see the pipe. unclip and cut the end off. Re-assemble.

Pipe 2 is the "normal" path for air intake and is just above pipe 1 by the bonnet catch.

Pipe 3 is between drivers side bumper and wheel arch liner. Remove indicator plug and lamp, and unclip the indicator from the headlight. Its a whiteish clip. Indicator will then push straight out. Now you will see a black pipe which is blanked. remove the Tx25 screw and unclip. cut the end off. Re-assemble.

I also shortened the pipe in the bottom of the air filter housing.

I kept the off-cuts incase i wished to blank them off again, but when you take them off you will see they have all the part no's on anyway, so new pipes can be bought easily.

The car now has 3 paths to draw incomming air instead of 1.

sounds simple enough and free. see how bored i get in the week might give it a play. then get a sporty panel filter for the airbox.

thats about all you can do to the 2.5 v6 it seems. which isnt a bad thing.

will get it all mocked up shortly so i can work out what connectors and how many i need, and also length of fuel pipe needed etc.

I had to get 6meters of teflon braided pipe from the fuel tank alone to the bulkhead, there was a little more then i needed so u could get away with 7 or 8 depending on where your going to have the pot placed
