no corsa work to report. got nothing to do at the minute really. roll cage ordering soon and when i finally get chance to go pick up some different suspension i will get that done. so down my mates on saturday evening he was doing a bit more welding and repair on the mk1 escort v6.

its coming along. johnathan does bits to it in between other jobs and some evenings. its almost ready for filler work.

fuel cell for the boot.

area he was fixing

slick and adam were watching

welded in and primer on ready for filler

other areas to sort on the back end. was just starting that when we had to leave. actually looking forward to seeing it finished in a month or so ready to paint.

decided it was approaching the time i needed to put anti freeze in the corsa as its onlyt had water in for months due to performance reasons. so changed that and also fitted the emerald ecu temp sensor. that random bloke slick discovered a split vacuum pipe so that got fixed aswell.

poor pics later. another quality update.

so the fantastic pics i promisd id post.........

emerald ecu temp sensor. looks exactly the same as the gm one although the code is different. hoping now the ecu can see the right water temp and make cold starts a bit less fuel filled.

unipart special edition anti-freeze and custom made funnel to apply anti-freeze to header tank. i pur 2.5 litres anti-freeze in. the other 2.5 litres is for the vectra later. there wont be pics of that though.

then went back to my mate slicks house, happy 35th birthday to slick by the way, and his dog ate some onion and destroyed the living room that mrs slick had cleaned earlier. mental.

Surely there aren't any performance reasons for not having any anti-freeze?

strange one. just went to put the rest of anti freeze in the vectra and do a coolant change etc. header tank was empty. took all 2 and a bit litres of the anti freeze to fill it.

now thing is, there is no water leaks, engine doesnt smoke like water is getting into the cylinders. was about 2 months ago when last checked the water level. nothing has happened since.

what on earth i ask?

dunno its not done many miles this last month or so as been using the corsa a lot. will investigate it at some point and keep checking the bottle. the warning on the display for coolant level hasnt come on weirdly.
