mates been offered one of these for a really good price, black, full leather, 50k miles, on a 54 plate with full servie history and the guy selling is the second owner, hes been offered it for £2k!!
im guessing this is worth going for even if its only used for a couple of months it could be sold on for more than this right?
what are the engines like in these?

aside from the build quality, these are really great wee cars - handling wise/performance per buck.

watch out for offside driver seat bolster. in my experience, they get worn and torn really bad.

well its gonna be his first car, i told him not to worry too much about cosmetics because he'll probably crash it anyway, but he says its mint.
what about engines and headgaskets? i know its been mentioned already but is that just because its mg and people think rover and then old rovers, or is it actually going to be a problem on this engine?

i know its whats deemed as fast for a first car, but yeah he has experience on bikes which are faster than this car and hes pretty sensible on a bike so can imagine he'll be sensible again in a car.

I pick mine up in the morning, 51 plate, red, 160bhp version, 75k, cambelt done, fsh, 2 previous owners, 4months tax, £1850.

Ive had one before and loved it, quite quick cars, good handling, ok interior isnt the best but i'm sure there's worse!

Ive heard about the head gasket problems but wouldn't let this put you off, never had a problem with my old one and can't wait to get this one.
