I saw a Capri today and I've wanted one for quite a while now- since my stepdad had an ex-police 2.8 laser

It's a 1.6 laser but I have soem spares left from the 2.8- if you get me - and it would be cool to have one as no one round my way has one.

It looks in pretty good condition apart from a patch under the windscreen and it might need a new bonnet at worst. It has 12 months T&T and is up for "sensible offers". It would be cheaper to insure than my astra

Obviously it will be a project and It wouldn't be a daily runner, here are the bits that need fixing;

Drivers side rear arch;

Bonnet;

My only concern.......under the windscreen;

Passenger rear arch;

pics of the rest of the car;

what would be a sensible offer? i was think around £400

Fuck me, about £100, at the most.

£400 is well over the odds.

The scuttle/a pillar isn't an issue either, but the scuttle is triple skinned so it's quite time consuming to repair.

My mate who races bangers would probably offer about £30 for it I'd aim low and work up, but no way would I pay £400 for it.

(and your stepdad didn't have a 2.8 Laser, they didn't make one )

I obviously wasnt going to offer £400 straight off but I wouldn't pay more than that in any case.

My mistake Robin I typed Laser instead of injection

so no more than 100 bar you say? I'll have a think about it anyway

Its going to be far worse underneath mate.

If you want a capri buy an enthusiast owned one as it will likely to be in better nik.

You can only get pattern parts now days and they fit quite badly

tbh you can drive it away....cheap......if you want a project.....go for it.....that deffo would be a project, and since you do have experience in body work etc.....dont think it would be to hard.

If you need a hand let me know, i'd be happy to help....i've seen worse "shed" than that being re-built.

looks like a lot of work - perhaps not really worth doing, as suggested above, pay a bit more money and get a cleaner one.

the capri is type of a collectors car, i swapped my mini for my literally spot on 1.2 R reg corsa the mini had more holes than swiss cheese! it is worth a few pound, even the state of it, but start low and work up, DO NOT rush into it!! there always be a better one for cheaper if you look! it always happens to me!! good luck matey
