This is not an advertisement before anyone moans! Just a post to show a customers car i did a while ago. He had washed it with a brillo pad so the paint was a mess.

He'd taken it to two different garages who had both said a full respray was the only option an quoted from £1000 to £1500 to fix it.

I buffed the full car, polished it back up, gave the interior a quick mini valet and serviced it for less than 10% of the prices he had originally been quoted. And supplied an fitted a new wing mirror. I obviously didnt make much on it but it was just a homer but when the guy was so happy with it, it made it all worth while for me. Anyway before pics:

The only downfall there is to buffing is that i used wet buffing which gets the compound in everywhere. So for the first few weeks you find the cutting compound in the scuttle panel, mirrors, wiper arms, all the wee daft inaccesabble bits. Comes off after a good few washes though.

When I worked for another company, I borrowed a directors company car (Merc S Class) to do a job on-site. The director told me to get someone to wash it for him while I was there. Little did I know that some idiot washed it with a scouring pad and ruined the paint. I never noticed and then got a very angry phonecall asking why the paint on his Merc was now ruined....

Its funny how many people actually have no idea about cars in the slightest. My mate once asked why you have to use a handbrake on a hill....

Yes it was actually washed with a brillo pad because "it was really dirty"

I charged £130 for full buff, An exterior paint clean, interior mini valet, full service and supply and fit new wing mirror cover.

I saw the car in the metal before and after!
He covered my mate in G3 though in the process LOL and one isde of my Golf but alls good!

On an unrelated note, we recieved a case at work, some v posh hotel - guy parked his Bentley GT under a tree and birds shat on it badly - one of the kitchen staff/porters got told to wash it and he washed the full car with a Brillo pad.
