1.9 TDI Sport 105bhp, are they any good? Was looking at getting a new car and there really nice to sit in and the outside isnt too bad either, anyone drove one before?

Not underpowered at all?

Also how much would my car be worth to sell as they offered me £1000 trade in

Cheers

My astra doesnt hang about and its 2.0, with 87bhp and 147ft, so that Golf will be quite nippy, not sure how it would fare against something like Colin's 130PD?

well if I get a bluefin for it, it apparently bumps up the bhp by 27 and the NM by 55 so that should give it a boost shouldnt it?

I have a mk5 2.0 GT Tdi 140ps. Been really impressed with it so far.
A mate has an early mk5 1.9 105ps and its ok, but a bit flat at times.

105 is a very noisey engine but more reliable than the 2.0 engines

For me they do not feel under powered as VAGs always feel faster than what they are due to how they deliver the power

They are 6 speed too and good on fuel

I dont think the build quality is there on the vaux these days and after working on them would like the prices when it goes wrong, prefer the golf tbh.

Also if you bluefin the golf mk4 110bhp it goes to 131bhp and 307NM!!!

Skoda and Volkswagaon are the same as ford and vauxhall now

I drove a 105 TDI engine in an A4 and it had a 5 speed gearbox. It was slow but that wouldn't of been helped by being in an A4 Avant.

So the Golf versions have 6 speed then?

Is that the same engine they put in the caddy vans? if so...

Its ok, good motorway crusier and can be nippy - ish blasting around town!

Not bad i suppose, but once you drive the 130 pd engines or the 2.0 140bhp engines, you will soon think you cant live with the 105

This is the one to have, I used an 08 GT Sport with Leather and loads of options. Very nice looks, handling and comfort. Hell of a lot of money though

Def get a mk5 over the mk4, they look soo dated now.

I've just bought a Golf 1.9 (105) TDi SE. Only 5 speed - didn't think they did a 6-speed with the 1.9?

I like it - is a bit noisy on acceleration but once up to speed theres just a bit of road/wind noise.

Plus managed 65mpg on a 150mile run last week averaging 75mph ish.
