DSG on the R32 is meant to be nice......ive never drove either though.

Im sure Olly will soon chirp up that the VXR is the one to go for

Do you want a mid life crisis wanna be boy racer car? Or a well built, quick and classy vw?

Haha.

Astra will be worth nothing within 5 minutes, golf shouldn't lose as much.

For the miles you do, I'd rather the Golf.

As a play car, general all rounder, the Astra.

Personally I would go for the Golf. Although you want to get one with the leather recaro interior. The engine note alone in these is absolutely immense

Need I say more.

Both very capable cars....I would at the last minute plunge for the golf, looks a bit more grown up and Evo really warmed up to theirs

Not driven either so cant really compare, probably the same story for the majority of users on here.

Personally id go for the vxr Nurb. But thats just because im vauxhall daft. And im sure the R32 is quite a bit more expensive? Iv test drove the VXR before, awesome driving motor. Need to be the type of person that likes a handfull when booting it.

Go book a test drive in both and compare them and see which you like best. Better than asking opinions of people that have never experianced them and just go off what they have read in my opinion!

That's not me btw

Just had a look and they've bumped the price up now It was 15 when I saw it there. Now it's £16,500

I wouldnt say there was any choice between a VXR or an R32, R32 would win hands down everytime for me, especially the ring edition, really dont like them, much rather a blue one if I had to have one.
