Right ive got a quick questiona bout internet connectivity to settle an argument, I wont name the ISP so people wont reply with any biased comments.
Basically, my dad is with an ISP that im not really happy with and ive experienced various problems that im almost 100% positive are ISP related, and he point blank refuses to believe me... So;

Twice now the internet has 'stopped working' since ive tried to use it, websites wont load but a couple of services have. Connection manager said it was a problem with DNS server resolution, i tried pinging the ISPs DNS servers with no reply. Tried public ones at it started working again fine. ISP problem?

Connection is synching at around 5.5mbps, with the old ISP we used to get 550 kB/s download speed 24/7, now at peak times we are lucky to get 120kB/s. (on wired and wireless) ISP problem?

12 month contract so you're trapped with any possible problems? ISP related?

Sounds like AOL TBH
Phone them up ask to fix it or give you your MAC key, we had lots of annoying call centres and idiots on the other end, as soon as we said "give MAC key"....."er hold on a minute" and an irish guy came on the phone, 2 minutes later everything was sorted.
