In a bid to stop the X Factor's version of Hallelujah getting to number one, Jeff Buckley's version has been re-released. So get to the shops now and buy it to stop this utter sacrilege getting to number one.

It annoys me that people are now getting on their high horses to make out their taste in music is better. Yes the original is better, but some people have never heard it and won't know/care its a cover.

The cover was better than the original TBF.

I think it's a travesty that such a brilliant song has been degraded by commerciality here, and that I'll never be able to sneak the lyrics into my sig without someone going "Ooooh, I like that one, didn't that X factor woman do it?"

Awesome song, beautiful lyrics, soon to be overplayed and ruined

To be honest, I don't know. I heard the Jeff Buckley version before the X-factor and thats the one I prefer. It just makes me laugh when people get on their musical high horses saying how its so bad to cover this song and how its been ruined. Its not as if she can't sing, so you just carry on listening to your favourte and people will buy the one they like.

tbh, people just deteste the X Factor single, because it's the X Factor.

She has talent and it's a good song, and luckily it's a bit more Christmasy than the previous ones.

I hope it gets to number 1, and not that Peter Kay Geraldine rubbish, charity or not.

There are some songs you should never cover though, normally an accepted, unwritten musicians rule but not here, Simon Cowell would ruin Imagine given the chance, he did it with Bridge over troubled water....
