Went to top up my mobile phone on friday, and it declined i was like WTF?
Checked my internet banking my bank account had been cleared.. no funds available. called up my bank apparently my money was in 'E-holding' and they couldnt do anything until the money went through, they cancelled my card there and then, received my new card on monday however had to wait until Tuesday for the money to go through.
Called up my bank again, looks like my card had been used all over Tesco's over London and card was present...
I said to the advisor thats impossible my card was at home, she told me someone had cloned my card and signed for all the goods...
She said they are doing an investigation now and requesting CCTV footage etc from tesco and a copy of the signatures used.. but she thinks I should be able to get a refund.
im devastated, if being made redundant from work 2 weeks ago wasnt enough, some badger stole all my money soon after, so now i have no money and waiting for my dole money to come through, a whole £95...

Lmfao Sucks. Right before christmas too

Can you think of any time someone had access to your card, or had time alone with your card ?

You will get it back, dont worry.

Did the shop assistant in the garage "accidentally" drop your card and it went out of sight for a sec?

Haha nope, Card is in the house half the time... I'm just unlucky
I said to the woman from my bank how is this possible tbh.. She said sometimes people fit a device called a skimmer to cashpoints or in shops that take ur card details then they can make a clone card from it..

Never, I always put it in the chip and pin thing on the desk they never even take my card...
It must have been from a cashpoint!

We allow signatures if the machine doesnt read it, or if we cba to faff around when the chip and pin bit is playing up

I think people should just go back to having cash. Nothing else.

I understand when they clone cards, they use like orange phone top up cards.. It means they'd of had to change the name to your name, and create a signature to sign for all these goods? As people won't accept a orange top up card?

Well isn't that interesting, a few people around my endz have been getting the same issues, it's the Asians at the local petrol station putting peoples cards in a fake card machine and cloning the card and not getting charge for fuel but then having cash withdrawn from Harlem

It's always the Hamilton Accies around here that try that shit mad: I was told at work that FOUR atm machines from the Dunfermline area alone are doing this You try to put your card in the machine, a mechanism inside laches onto the card, the card doesn't read so you think it's swallowed your card. By the time you've phoned up to query this someone has came along and taken your card from the mechanism and is offsky!

Edit: Oops, missus account.
