Does running your car on this cause any ill effects?

NOt that i know of, pretty sure its the same diesel but just with a red "dye" in. Only ill effects that ive ever heard of are obviously red die on your exhaust etc.

the newer vag tdi engines and peugeot hdis engines dont like it. they will run on it but will eventually fuck them up.

ok on older dturbos and 1.5tds etc etc

Why would it, its just normal diesel thats had a dye run through it.

If you get caught using it in your car they take it off you.

I rekon you would be very unlucky to get caught if you were running it in a car that looks half decent, but if you had a rusty old white transit with a black trail from the filler cap it would be a tad more likely

Ive seen them doing dip tests quite alot recently. They were at the exit to the car park at the SECC last time I was there.

one of those things, i saw them stopping twice in ten years, but sure you could meet them tomoro.

red deffo isnt gd for modern engines. it will destroy them long term

i'm pretty sure red diesel makes cars smoke much much more than ussual diesel?

Im sure its virtually the same just not as 'refined' so to speak, to the newer highly strung engines dont like it....but the older diesels which are alot ruffer run on fuel no probs

Not 100% sure though

I would nt use it we have it here on the farm and its mucky stuff they dont filter very well thats why we go through filters alot

I ran my Mondeo TDCi on it for ages 500+ miles a week, doesnt do anything to your car, is it worth the risk now that diesels a quid a litre? I wouldnt say so!

I was just asking seeing as someone with the same Golf TDi as mine runs hios on it and it runs like a burst arse yet he is adamant its just as good as normal stuff.

Tell that to the Judge..

If your vehicle is not SORN and you are using red diesel (i.e. you are running the vehicle on the road) you are committing tax avasion, your car can be siezed and they can fine you for the tax they feel you may have avoided which could be any amount really.

i herd a lil rumour that if you mix red with green it takes the die out? dont no how ture it is though.mate ran his on red for years till this day he's still cruising.lol

Im sure he is aware of that fella, he is just stating that red diesel is normal diesel with a dye in it thus not harming the engine in anyway

Its exactly the same as regular diesel. Just has a red dye in it. Also im pretty sure the fine used to be £1000 a litre!!
