Was out today and came accross this in a local garage so felt i had to stop and look.

Looking to upgrade my m3 and ZM roadster to one practical convertible which wont be used a great deal; was going to go for an m3 convertible as ticked all the boxes......but this!! Was offered a fairly good price trade in on mine and once the ZM was sold it wouldnt need much on top!!!!
Resisted the urge today, so thought i would run an insurance quote to put me off thinking it would be sky high.........but........was £150 cheaper than the m3 Then i switch on Dave and they are reviewing a 911 carerra 2 on there!!!!!
And i was trying to be sensible!!!!

If you do want a 911, then i'd try to find a 993 (preferably an 'S' with the turbo body) in your price range. You'll lose less money (if you lose any) on it. They also look nicer and they're rarer.

Looks shit IMO, horrible with a floppy top, and the 996 is probably the ugliest of "911"s.

Yeah 993 is nice; but would want that as something that could sit in a garage and only come out when its sunny!!
I like the 996 and fairly modern.
Had a convertible for quite a few years now and i know when the sun is out if i didnt have one i would want one

I few people i work with have them and they get almost 30MPG, insurance isn't as high as the M3 for me but servicing is a little more tham the BMW but less than running 2 m3's!!!
