Its my brothers 21st next week, mum ordered him the £500 guitar that he wanted. It arrived safe and well on Friday
He sat it against the sofa on Saturday, mum sat down - the sofa moved a wee bit - the guitar slipped and....................... hit the ground
here's the damage

Contact the place saying it was broken when you received it.

It was inside a hard guitar case at the time, we think it must have had a flaw in it. It only slid down the back of the sofa Shes contacted the company and told them it was like that when she opened it, but its supposed to be checked on delivery for any damage She's patiently waiting a reply

That happened whilst it was in the case?
Definitely something not right there.

if it was inside a hard case when it slipped onto the floor, then it does sound like a fault in the stock/head. See what they say, but i think they might tell you to GTF

Serious flaw if that's the case... I'm assuming it was strapped in, inside the case?

The case is lined with a kind of furry stuff as well, that should have softened the blow !

from touring alot, and having many guitars in hardcases, never once has that happened! i've broke a head stock before, when i hit the stock off a wall ...
i'd complain, hope it gets sorted! (if not, get a cheap replica, replace the headstock, it won't make a difference to sound)

seeing as it was in the case they should be able to see that its only the break and no scuffs etc. That may prove to them that it was cased when it happend

Admit it, you wanted to do the classic "Rocking out thing" by smashing it on the floor!
In all seriousness, that must be devastating hope it all goes well
