All being well I'm planning to do a 2.0 16v conversion to my Corsa sometime next year. However before I start buying all the bits I need to find out if I'm actually going to be able to insure it. If it all goes ahead then I plan to have it complete by my 19th birthday. Touch wood I wont crash between now and then so hopefully will have 2 years ncb

I've rang a couple of companys to see if they can give me a rough idea but won't do it because im not actually 19 yet.

So I was just wondering who has insured a 2.0 16v Corsa at 19? If so what was the price like and who with?

Cheers guys

But my postcode area is seriously bad, plus you'll have 2NCB
I'd say the £1500 mark sounds reasonable

Someone actually paid that to insure a Corsa?

I thought my price of £490 fully comp on my Astra Coupe Turbo @ 23 was steep

Just for reference i had a quote at 19 with 2yncb, adrian flux, mods declared were alloys, coilovers, exhaust, V6 brakes, and a clifford alarm, was just UNDER £1,000 TPFT. When i rung up a few week later to check it was still ok, they said that company they got the quote from had gone bust, and the best they could now do is £1,200, still cheap.

By the way Shaun, if you even dare redtop that Corsa, i WILL be moving in a tent on your front lawn

Cheers guys. Just an idea at the moment. Either way its having a new engine next year. The lack of power is starting to get annoying

At the moment Im thinking a 1.4 or 1.6 16v might be a better, more realistic option for me. Still plenty of power for me (anything will feel quicker that the 12v ) but the conversion costs and insurance will be a lot less. Being a full time student this would be a better option due to a lack of monies. Also means i'd be able to insure it next year rather than having to waiting to im 19

just drop a 1.6 sport engine in then add a few engine mods in time to come would be easyer than trying to insure a 2.0 16v and you might not have as many problems with a 1.6 than a 2.0
